New interview with Ahlan
It’s 10.30am in Dubai, but in London-town where Fergie, is filming her latest film, musical Nine, it’s just gone 7.30am and AhlanLive.com has woken up The Dutchess for a natter…

Good morning Fergie, have we woken you?
No, no it’s only about 7.30am but I’m up, you know I gotta do these things sometimes.

So how’s London?
Great. I’m filming the movie Nine, it’s a musical by ROB MARSHALL and NICOLE KIDMAN’s in it, um, KATE HUDSON, DANIEL DAY LEWIS, so it’s really great to be a part of that.

And after London you’ll be heading to Dubai, is it going to be Fergalicious?
Yeah! I’m so excited to come back and see what else has been done. The growth that’s going on there is amazingly fast and beautifully done.

Are you going to cram in much sight-seeing?
I don’t know, we’ll see, you know. I’m there to do the show, but we’ll see what happens.

You’re already working with huge Hollywood heavyweights and you’re more famous than the original Fergie, is there anyone you’ve met that’s left you star-struck?
Oh MADONNA! You know, I saw her after her concert and I wanted to give her some positive words but I didn’t want to talk too much to her because I understand what it feels like after a show when there’s a lot of people in the room who want to see you.

I wanted to give her some kind words but I didn’t want to take up her time. I really wanted to ask her some more questions but I doubt it would have been as exciting for her as it was for me!

But if I ever got the chance to sit down with her I think I’d want to ask her some advice questions and I would love to collaborate with her. That would be amazing.

And who else is on your collaboration hitlist?
KID ROCK and I have talked about doing something together I’d like to work with JOHN MAYER I think we could do something really earthy. KATY PERRY I’m a fan of, she’s great and a sweetheart, that would be cool. RIHANNA and I could do a duet, it would be fun to do something with her. Basically all the female artists, all the strong females as you can tell I’m, very pro-strong females.

But saying that I’d also like to work with SLASH, we’ve performed together a few times and we always had a great time doing that so I’d like to do some original work with him.

So what’s next for Fergie on the music-front?
I’m not working on my solo stuff right now, I’m working on a new BLACK EYED PEAS album. The new Peas album is the sole focus right now. So for me that’s what’s going on.
The guys came out to London and we recorded here. That was great.

And aside from your role in Nine, are there any more movies from you?

I have a small part as the voice of a hippo in Madagascar 2 and I’ve just been to the premiere of that.
But I don’t know about more movies though, we’ll see. My role isn’t that big in that movie. I play JADA PINKET SMITH’s little side-kick. WILL’s (SMITH) got a big part in it. But I love doing animation.

That’s right, you did the voice-overs of Sally Brown in the old Charlie Brown cartoons.

Yeah I did, when I was about 10-years-old, so I’ve done it since I was a child,
I love doing animation. It’s always great to see yourself as a cartoon character.

So, Fergie, finally, what exactly does make big girls cry?

(Laughs)Um, a good episode of Grey’s Anatomy. That show definitely makes me cry. But I like to have a good cry once in a while.
